Lv recently traveled to Santa Fe, NM to visit her amazing friend Ana Bessy Cassidy to celebrate the 2 year anniversary of her art gallery, Artes Mio, and experience the world-famous Indian market. What began as a visit with a best friend quickly became a photographer's paradise as they traveled throughout New Mexico and Colorado.
"I knew that I would see beauty but I was not prepared for the MAGNITUDE of that beauty. Every scene while on the road was picturesque and because Ana was open to being my model, I was able to blend portrait and landscape photography techniques and produce images that I love! The white sands in particular were so amazing that I turned the tables and let Ana take images of me. It was by far one of my most memorable shoots!"
Project Spotlight: Infinite Illumination
Infinite Illumination combines the beauty of color and nostalgia. Lv loves to how different gel lighting combinations can cast different and interesting shades on various skin types. Having the same set with different lighting can instantly change the mood of the shots. Lv wanted to explore this more by using similar lighting techniques on two different sets with models of different skin types. She also used the same set with similar lighting but with two different models. At the end of the day, she learned that there are infinite possibilities when you change variables on set. From the lights to the models to the clothes; learn to be fluid and adapt to the beauty before you.
"When shooting professional dancer and choreographer D'nay Baptiste, I wanted to explore the way color works on her beautiful deep skin. When shooting business owner Allison and model Tony, I wanted to use light to capture the mood of the 70's on the whole scene. Although I used similar lighting techniques, all shots have their own vibe. I am so happy with the results!"
